How to play good poker
Hello-
If you want to learn how to play poker, you can watch ESPN’s poker shows. If you want to learn how to play good poker, you have to invest hundreds of hours playing, studying, reading, asking questions, and talking to other poker players who are serious about improving their poker game.
It takes a lot of work to become a good poker player.
Who am I and why should you care about reading this?
My name is Adam and I play online poker. This blog will offer some of the things I’ve learned about how to play good poker and some of my results.
Writing out my thoughts will help me improve my game and hopefully I can pass along some tips to help you with yours. I’m not a great poker player by a long shot. On some of the sites I play on, I have a negative ROI, on others I have a decent positive ROI.
I have all the great poker books – Harrington on Hold Em, Super System, Caro’s Book of Tells, Navarro’s book of tells, Phil Gordon’s books, and many others. I also enjoy reading the occasional poker novel. Just finished reading Hunting Fish and enjoyed his struggle trying to build a bankroll to play in a bigger stakes game at the Commerce Casino.
I don’t get to play online everyday as I am a small business owner and that takes up most of my time.
Usually, I play SNGs and MTTs. Lately, I’ve been starting to play more cash games to even out the variance I’ve seen in my multi tables. With cash games though I’ve found it too easy to say “Fuck It! I call” when I just want to see what they have. Some times they have it and sometimes they don’t. It’s one of the many leaks I have in my cash game.
I’m also a member of Poker X Factor and will use their hand replayer to record some of my games and make videos of them. Maybe one day, I’ll be a guest pro.
)
Have fun sucking out at the tables!
-Adam
